THE CHARTERHOUSE
Charterhouse Square, London EC1

The Charterhouse is situated in Charterhouse Square, off Carthusian Street. The entrance is on the opposite side of the Square as you enter from Carthusian Street, to the right of the Malmaison Hotel. It can be identified by a large black gate in an 18th century building with a lodge. The gate will be open when people arrive and the Porter will let them in. Once inside the precincts of the Charterhouse, follow the “Way in” signs.

By car: there is metered parking in Charterhouse Square, even at weekends (possibly telephone parking only), costing £6 for 4 hours. Otherwise single yellow lines and meters in Carthusian Street or vicinity.

By tube: the nearest underground station is Barbican, just 3 minutes walk away, or Farringdon slightly further away (both on the Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines).
